Marketo Minutes: Rescheduling an Event

Michael Tucker

Events! From small tabletops at local events to large conferences and tradeshows - coordinating these events is no small task. Everything from confirming location and guests, to sending out marketing communications and designing and ordering printable materials needs to be planned out and executed. Don’t forget to order that SWAG so it arrives in time!

Now, imagine your company is putting together it’s yearly conference. Thousands of attendees, hundreds of booths, and exhibits, with dozens of guest speakers over this three-day event. As part of the marketing team, your role is to coordinate with the event team on all marketing communications and any Marketo support needed for this event. You have scheduled emails for registration reminders and attendance confirmations. Set up text alerts and automated calls for internal and external media personnel. You have even established emergency plans with email, text and phone alerts to event organizers and attendees using various integrations. All of this and more is nestled inside an Adobe Marketo Engage Event Program.

Then it happens, the dreaded phone call, something has happened to the venue, or a major Keynote speaker had an unforeseen conflict, or perhaps a public health concern is threatening to shut down the city. Whatever the case, you are now forced to reschedule the dates of your conference. How do you change all of the marketing communications and alerts you created around this event while still managing your other responsibilities and creating new communications explaining the change to the event?

In this week’s Marketo Minutes episode, Michael Tucker will show you how you can update your creative and reschedule EVERY message with just a few key updates to your Event Program.
